Hostel
Garranes Hostel is a traditional farmhouse cottage with shared self-catering facilities, female and male dormitories, a family room with two double beds and a private room with one double bed.
The hostel has a fully equipped kitchen, and a cosy sitting room. Bed linen is provided. Please bring your own towel.
A year after Peter and Harriet Cornish moved onto the lands at Dzogchen Beara, the cottage became their home and was renovated with love and care. The octagonal tiles in the living room had been removed from the Royal Scottish Museum during renovations. They were spotted by Peter on a visit to Edinburgh and transported back to West Cork in his van: the roof beams were made from jetsam salvaged from the shore below the cliffs and bear the marks of sea-worms.
The hostel has been recently renovated, with more light and space and an additional shower room, while maintaining all of its original charm.
