Dzogchen Beara has at its heart a community of Buddhist practitioners that upholds the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. We offer a place of refuge and healing supportive to the awakening of innate wisdom, love and compassion, open to all.
Awakening to our true nature
Our aim is to offer all who come to Dzogchen Beara the opportunity to connect with the possibility of awakening to their true nature.
What does our name mean?
‘Dzogchen’ is a Tibetan word referring to the most ancient and direct stream of wisdom within the Buddhist tradition of Tibet.
The place name of this peninsula sounds like the English word ‘bearer’. Inspired by this the name Dzogchen Beara was chosen by Sogyal Rinpoche to identify here as a place that upholds the Dzogchen lineage, “the heart-essence of all spiritual paths and the summit of an individual’s spiritual evolution”.
