Light Offerings
In Tibetan Buddhism, lamps represent the light of wisdom, dispelling ignorance and illuminating the brilliance of our true nature. Lights are offered in remembrance of those who have died, for family and friends, to mark special projects or in the name of a loved one. They can also be offered as an expression of love, joy or gratitude. Lamps are prepared in brass bowls and offered by the community of spiritual practitioners at Dzogchen Beara in our Tibetan style butter lamp house. If you would like to sponsor the lighting of all the lamps for a particular occasion, there are 108 butterlamps in our Butterlamp House. The number 108 holds deep significance in Buddhism and is regarded as especially auspicious.
Suggested amount: €2 per lamp
