Garranes Farmhouse Hostel is open all year round, and offers a friendly and welcoming environment. The hostel is a traditional farmhouse cottage with communal self-catering facilities, including shared bathroom and shower facilities. The hostel has a fully equipped kitchen, and a communal sitting room.
Our hostel has WIFI. Dzogchen Beara is a “screen break” friendly zone, but if you need to check that email or look something up, we’ve got you covered!
What rooms are available in the hostel?
There are two dormitories:
- one for women with eight beds
- one for men with six beds
There is also a family room which has two double beds and a private room with a double bed.

Good to know when staying in the hostel
- The Hostel is well sign-posted, a small team of volunteers reside in the hostel and there will be someone there to welcome you on arrival.
- All bed linen is supplied, guests are requested to bring their own towels. Depending on availability towels can be borrowed; a donation of € 5 is suggested if you do so.
- If staying in the dormitory we would advise to please bring ear plugs.
- Breakfast is not included, please bring your own supplies. We do provide tea and coffee.
- There is a fridge to store any provisions and a fully equiped kitchen at your disposal.
- There are cats in our hostel. If you have an allergy please contact our Administration Office to determine whether this accommodation would be suitable for you.
- Internet is available in the downstairs living area of the hostel.
- Consumption of alcohol is not allowed anywhere in the hostel.
