Loving Kindness
Setting the Heart Free
with Andrew Warr
Friday 4 July, 7.30pm to Sunday 6 July, 1pm
An introduction to meditations which offer gentle yet powerful tools to open our hearts and minds, to connect with the immeasurable treasury of love within us and to develop empathy and kindness far beyond conventional limitations.
Loving-kindness meditation is a Buddhist practice that cultivates goodwill and friendliness toward oneself and others. The practice stems from the wish that all living beings may have happiness and its causes.
Over 2,500 years ago the Buddha first taught Loving Kindness as a way to reconnect with that inner wealth of love and to alleviate fear. In modern times these meditations still provide gentle yet powerful tools for opening our hearts and minds.
In today’s fast-paced world, where information overload and societal pressures can overwhelm us, our hearts can easily close up, leaving us feeling lonely and anxious. However, there is a way to break free from this cycle.
During this retreat, we will explore the stages of the Loving Kindness practice, offer guidance to overcome obstacles, and create a practical plan to integrate Loving Kindness into your daily life. Embrace this opportunity to reconnect with the immeasurable treasury of love within you and experience the profound impact it can have on your well-being.
Loving kindness is a practice which has proved tremendously helpful, both to those who are already experienced in other forms of meditation and those who are completely new to meditation.
“Real deepening of both meditation and Loving Kindness in a perfect environment where even the birds are loving.” (Karin)
