The Spiritual Care team supports guests to make the most of the cosy and contemplative environment of the Care Centre.
Spiritual Care
We use the word ‘spiritual’ to describe the needs which we all share, whatever our beliefs. The need to:
- understand and transform suffering
- find a source of comfort, peace or refuge
- experience a genuine connection with others
- find meaning in life, and illness and dying
Responsibilities of the Spiritual Care team
The Spiritual Care team has two main responsibilities, to host anyone on a Support Break, and to facilitate groups making use of the Spiritual Care Centre.
The team consists of professionals most of whom have a background in care. The team is supported by volunteers and all together they make sure that guests are welcomed in a serene and peaceful atmosphere.
As the Spiritual Care Centre is used by retreat participants and visitors who stay overnight, the team also looks after basic breakfast necessities. The Spiritual Care Centre is the only accommodation onsite where self catering continental breakfast is provided.
